Base, XLT, and Limited models now feature available floor liners without carpet floor mats, while driver and front passenger seats now feature standard heating functions on XLT models, as is the heated steering wheel.

Still Great Under the Hood

Under the hood, you’ll still enjoy the same incredible engines that effortlessly blend fuel economy and performance. The base model Explorer is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost^® 4-cylinder engine that generates 300 horsepower and 310lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, power is transferred to the rear wheels but an intelligent 4-wheel drive system is available for superior off road and on-road performance. Opt for the Explorer ST, and you’ll enjoy 400 horsepower thanks to the 3-liter Twin Turbo EcoBoost^® V6 while enjoying gravity defying handling thanks to the standard intelligent 4-wheel drive system.

The XLT Gets Even Better Looking

New on XLT models is the available factory installed XLT Appearance Package which makes your Explorer XLT transform into even more of a head-turner. Included in the package is a set of 20-inch 10 spoke wheels wrapped in all season tires. Grille bars with mesh inserts make a positive first impression, while dual chrome exhaust tips and skid plate elements put handsome finishing touches on its body. Inside, seats receive attractive contrast stitching and unique door trim graces the cabin for an enhanced ambience.
