Confident Performance

The 2022 Ford Mustang is equipped as standard with a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 making 310 horsepower or 332 (when fitted with a high-performance package) and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Mustang GT comes with a 5.0-liter V8 that's good for 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Mach1 uses the same V8 engine but delivers 470 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.

If you want a big supercharged performance under the hood, you can opt for the Mustang Shelby GT500, which has a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 producing a whopping 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque.

Every Ford Mustang is fitted with rear-wheel drive. A six-speed manual transmission is standard; a 10-speed automatic is optional in every Ford Mustang trim except the Shelby GT500, which has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
